Each vanilla bean is more than 5.5 inches (15-16 cm) long, packed with gorgeous black seeds and plump with its correct moisture content, unlike the dried-out beans you often see in supermarkets. These are the dominant planifolia variety, as distinguished from the shorter, drier Tahitian bean.
