They are then moved to storage bins and automatically conveyed to fryers, where they undergo washing, peeling, slicing, and inspection. The potato slices are cooked in temperature-controlled cookers, using only 100% cottonseed oil, ensuring a delightful crunch with every bite. After cooking, the chips are lightly salted and packaged using advanced machinery that weighs, forms, fills, and seals each bag with precision.
Better Made has proudly maintained its production in Detroit for over 85 years, relying on Michigan potatoes for ten months of the year, while sourcing the best potatoes from Florida, Missouri, Indiana, North Dakota, Minnesota, and beyond during the remaining months.
