Better Made continues to uphold its legacy of quality, utilizing an impressive 60 million pounds of chip potatoes each year. The modern production process has evolved to incorporate advanced technology while still emphasizing the use of top-quality ingredients. Potatoes are sourced in bulk, with truckloads weighing between 45,000 to 85,000 pounds, and are delivered using hydraulic lifts. Once unloaded, the potatoes are transported via conveyors to storage bins. As needed, they are automatically conveyed to fryers where they undergo thorough washing, peeling, slicing, and inspection. The potato slices are then cooked in temperature-controlled cookers using 100% cottonseed oil, ensuring a fresh and delicious flavor. After cooking, the chips are lightly salted and moved through an overhead vibrating conveyor system to automatic packaging machines, which weigh, form, fill, and seal the final product.
