Product Description
Matcha's deliciously roasted sibling.
Our hojicha is green tea that's roasted, then ground into a fine powder. It whisks up a soft brown color with earthy, nutty and chocolatey notes, and it makes a cozy latte with steamed milk.
You make it exactly like matcha, so if you have a bamboo whisk or electric latte whisk, you're set.
Flavor notes: roasted, nutty, chocolatey, earthy
Ingredients: roasted green tea
Allergens: made in a facility that handles tree nuts.
Caffeine: high (still less than a cup of coffee)
How to Make It
- Whisk 1.5 teaspoons of hojicha (just under 3 g on a kitchen scale) with about 1/3 cup of water (175 to 195°F, or cold) until smooth and frothy.
- Top with steamed or iced milk, or more water, to make a 12 oz drink.

Questions
How is hojicha different from matcha?
Both are green tea powders, but hojicha is roasted first. It's brown instead of green, and earthy and nutty instead of grassy.
Does it have caffeine?
Yes. It's a green tea powder with high caffeine, still less than a cup of coffee.
How many drinks does a pouch make?
About 18 from the 40 g pouch and 66 from the 150 g, at 1.5 teaspoons per 12 oz. Lighter or stronger, that's 13 to 27 (40 g) or 50 to 100 (150 g).
