Finca Amazonas – Maracaturra Washed
Belén de Umbría, Risaralda, Colombia
Flavor Notes: 🍬 Toffee 🍑 Apricot 🌿 Spearmint
At 2200 MASL in the cloud-covered mountains of Belén de Umbría, Finca Amazonas produces coffees distinguished by clarity, sweetness, and remarkable varietal expression. Under the care of Juan David Gallego, this washed Maracaturra—a rare hybrid of Maragogipe and Caturra—showcases the variety's elegant structure and vibrant complexity.
Harvested in June 2026 and roasted to a light, expressive profile, the cup opens with inviting aromatics of caramelized sugar, delicate florals, and soft stone fruit. The washed process highlights the coffee's inherent sweetness and transparency, allowing each flavor to emerge with precision and balance.
On the palate, rich toffee sweetness forms the foundation of the experience. Apricot brings a gentle, juicy fruit character, while subtle floral notes add lift and refinement. A refreshing touch of spearmint appears in the finish, creating a cooling contrast that lingers long after the last sip. The juicy body supports medium citric acidity, giving the cup brightness without overshadowing its comforting sweetness.
The finish is clean and lasting, leaving impressions of toffee, ripe apricot, and fresh mint.
