Description

George And Marie Cavanaugh Were Trying To Raise Money To Help Build A Church In South Dakota. Marie Had A Delicious Recipe For A Pecan Roll That Had Been Passed Down To Her By An Aunt. She Started Making Pecan Rolls And Tweaking The Recipe To Make Other Delicious Candy Confections To Sell Them. When The Church Was Built, People Still Wanted To Buy Her Chocolates, So The Cavanaughs Decided To Open A Candy Shop. Marie Went To The Bank Armed With Only A One-Pound Box Of Chocolates To Ask For A Loan Of $10,000 To Open A Store.
