Moringa Leaf Tea, Explained
Moringa leaf tea is an herbal tea made from the dried leaves of the Moringa oleifera tree. Our Original blend is nothing but organic moringa leaf, so what you taste is the leaf itself: mild, earthy and a little grassy, close to a light green tea but naturally caffeine-free.
The leaves come from family-owned plantations in Sri Lanka. They are dried, cut to an even size and packed into individually wrapped, plastic-free tea bags. The cut leaf inside each bag is the same leaf you would buy as loose-leaf moringa tea, measured out for one cup, so there is nothing to weigh and no strainer to clean.
Moringa Leaf Tea FAQ
Is this moringa leaf tea or moringa powder?
It is moringa leaf tea: cut, dried moringa leaves in tea bags that you steep and then remove. Moringa powder is a different product. It is finely milled leaf that you stir into smoothies, yogurt or recipes, and it is not meant to be brewed as tea.
Is it loose leaf or tea bags?
Tea bags. Each box holds 25 individually wrapped bags of cut organic moringa leaf. The bags are plastic-free, so you get the convenience of a bag with the same leaf you would find in loose-leaf moringa.
Does moringa leaf tea have caffeine?
No. Moringa leaf is naturally caffeine-free, and our Original tea contains moringa leaf only, so it is a caffeine-free herbal tea you can drink at any time of day.
How do I brew moringa leaf tea?
Heat fresh water to 195-205°F, just off the boil, and steep one bag for 4-5 minutes. A longer steep gives a stronger, earthier cup. Enjoy it plain, with a slice of lemon, or over ice.
Where is your moringa grown?
On family-owned plantations in Sri Lanka, on a sustainable bought-leaf model. The tea is USDA Organic and EU Organic certified.
What does moringa leaf tea taste like?
Mild, earthy and slightly grassy, a little like a light green tea without the bitterness. If you prefer a flavored cup, try Mint, Lemon or Green Tea moringa.
