Bulgar (Bulghur) is made by parboiling wheat, and then coarsely drying it. The outer layers of the brand are then removed and the grains are cracked. Once cracked, it is ready to be boiled or steamed. When cooked, it retains its distinctive nutty flavor. Bulghur is commonly found in Mediterranean (Tabouleh), Indian & American (Hot Cereal) Cuisine. We carry it in a fine (commonly called #1), we also have a coarse listing as well.
I recently started cooking with Rani's cracked wheat and it's been a fantastic addition to my meals. The fine texture makes it perfect for dishes like tabbouleh. Plus, knowing it's all-natural and vegan gives me peace of mind!

Great for Healthy Cooking!
I bought this Rani bulgur for making pilafs and it turned out great! It's easy to prepare and has a lovely nutty flavor. Just be aware, the 32oz packaging is a bit large, but it stores well!

Arrived Damaged
Unfortunately, I had a bad experience with my order of Rani cracked wheat. The package arrived with a tear, and some of the wheat spilled out. It’s a shame because I wanted to try this for a recipe!

Not What I Expected
The cracked wheat from Rani is decent, but I was hoping for a more robust flavor. It's fine for sides, but I feel like it lacks a bit of character when cooked. Packaging was fine, though!
