Product Description
Pu-erh tea is a semi-rare type of tea that is exclusively made in southern Yunnan of China and derives its name from the Puer County in which its grown. The aged ripe (shu or black) pu erh tea undergone both piling process and aging process during which it can mellow and improve, much of the bitterness and astringency inherent in the tea leaves have dissipated. Puerh tea is post-fermented, which means that the tea leaves go through a microbial fermentation process after they have been dried and rolled, causing the leaves to darken and change in flavor, it is therefore known as black tea or dark tea in the West. Ripe puerh tea has a bold, smooth, rich flavor that many consider earthy, woody or mushroomy. It often appeals to coffee drinkers and pairs well with rich desserts. You can even add ice cube, milk or honey for flavorful daily beverage.
