Harvesting at high altitudes is physically challenging for the harvesters, but it assures that we are getting the cleanest, most pure form, and best shilajit possible. High-altitude Shilajit has spent the least amount of time running down the mountain.
Why is this important? The longer the shilajit seeps down the mountain, the more chances it has to gather impurities. Just like spring water collected at the source is cleaner than river water downstream, shilajit harvested at high altitude is generally purer than lower elevation varieties.
It's also minimally-processed.
