Product Description
The extra virgin olive oil "D.O.P. Canino" is obtained from a single variety of Caninese olives, from a grove of trees that dates back to the Etruscan era. For the olives to be included, they need to come from trees that are over 100 years old!
D.O.P. Canino is a visceral experience, with an intense green color and a vibrant aroma. It offers a good balance between bitter and spicy, with notes of aromatic herbs, and wrapped with the scent of fresh fruit.
It is excellent for seasoning bruschetta or soup, sauteeing vegetables, or marinating meats.
What is D.O.P? Denominazione di Origine Protetta, is Italian for “Protected Designation of Origin.” It is a strict legal guarantee that the product is produced, processed, and packaged entirely in a fixed, specific geographic area. Another requirement for the DOP Certification is that the production process follows that region’s traditional methods for optimal quality and authenticity. Other examples of Italian products that carry the designation are Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese and Emilia Romagna balsamic vinegar.
