Teff is incredibly versatile and can be used in a myriad of recipes. From fluffy pancakes and hearty bread to delectable cookies and muffins, teff flour adds a unique flavor profile and a delicate texture to your gluten-free baked goods. Additionally, teff grains can be cooked and used as a base for porridge, salads, or side dishes, offering a wholesome and satisfying addition to any meal.
You can use teff as you would any other grain, but the teff-to-liquid ratio is a bit different. A 1:1 ratio of teff to liquid keeps the seeds intact and al dente, perfect for use as a sprinkle on top of oatmeal, muffins, soup, steamed vegetables, or just about anywhere you want to add a healthy little crunch. Teff grain is most popularly used to make a flatbread called injera. For a creamier dish, such as breakfast porridge, increase the liquid to 1:4.
